  FIRESA Seminar 2012

FIRESA is delighted to indicate a highly successful 2012 Conference and AGM with an excellent turnout of members and specially invited guests that enjoyed a significant programme of both internal and external speakers. The presentation sets have been made available exclusively to members.

FIRESA has a new Associate Member. Broden Media that organises the Emergency Services Show is now with us and we look forward to their involvement with the Association.

Following a competitive vote, we are pleased to announce that Leslie Wardle of AES/RIG Systems and Ian Callaghan of PBI Peformance Products are to take seats on Council from 1st April. We congratulate them and look forward very much to their participation.

The new Chairman and Vice Chairman, Derek Gotts and David Plant respectively, take up their positions at the helm of ther Association on 1st April. Their initial ideas were aired at the AGM and one of their first tasks will be to speak personally to all FIRESA members to determine the views of all of our members on the big issues around us and on how they wish FIRESA to represent the sector.

FIRESA is delighted to confer Honorary Membership of the Association on outgoing Chairman Dave Russell and Vice-Chairman Gerry Styler. Both have been active on Council since the inception of FIRESA seven years ago and over the past several years have proved an ideal partnership as Chair and Vice-Chair over what has been a typically busy and challenging period. We're pleased that they remain engaged on a number of on-going projects and will continue to represent their member companies within FIRESA .

FIRESA held its Conference and AGM at its Hampton premises on 1st March. The Keynote Address was provided by Chris Williamson, Labour MP for Derby North and Opposition Spokesman on Fire and Rescue, with the Fire Sector Partnership, the Consortium, Prince's Trust , the Yorkshire Purchasing Organisation, CFOA and the London Fire Brigade all contributing enormously to a terrific programme of speakers.
